Emile’s Sports Car Performance Takes Top Honors for Best Maseratis at Maserati Days 2010

Amid a stunning collection of beautifully maintained and restored Maseratis at Concorso Italiano 2010, two exceptional Maserati Boras presented by Emile's Sports Car Performance took First and Second place, in the Bora class of this year’s Maserati Days  competition. The Bora class was the largest, with nine of the best presented examples we can remember in recent years.  They were judged by a discriminating panel long time Maserati enthusiasts with extensive knowledge of the marque.   Over fifty cars were scrutinized in the following areas: body, engine, interior, and overall aesthetics . “IT’S LIKE GOING HOME”

When Smokey Robinson said in his recording, “I’ll second that emotion”, you bet I agree with Jane Parks-McKay in her letter in the March JAGazette edition, and I second her emotion when she speaks so highly of EMILE’S SPORTS CAR PERFORMANCE located in Santa Cruz. Not only does he specialize in Jaguar, but all British makes and he further specializes in Maserati and Ferrari. My wife, Juana, and I can certainly attest to that too, as he has recently completed repair/maintenance on a Councours award-winning original Maserati Merak SS we own - with Superb work being done.

Emile and Peter, who have worked together for over 25 years are both master mechanics/technicians, easy to work with, being extremely personable. I feel as if I’m treated like family. It is not just a repair facility, it’s like “going home.” How difficult we find that to say in this day and age!

Whether it’s a twin or triple SU setup or any combination of Weber carburattion or fuel injection, Emile has a full command of the situation. While I do have to drive a 90 mile round trip to Emile’s, it does not faze me in the least, knowing that the work is going to be performed in a fully competent and professional manner.

Folks, if you want your Jags or any of your classic cars treated very properly and purring, as they should, give Emile’s Sports Car Performance a call. Yes, he does advertise in our JAGazette.

I had a major repair done to my Land Rover at Emile’s. They spent time checking it out and let me know what the problem was and gave me a very precise quote. The work was done when they promised and the staff was very professional, they also went beyond the service and checked my tires and washed my car. I would highly recommend Emile’s Shop, you will be taken great care of.

Just a word for Emile’s sports car performance “WOW”, and what was I thinking taking my baby to Extra Mile auto? Emile and Peter are Professional, knowledgeable, and just down right nice guys. They quickly diagnosed my Rover, and like surgeons had her fixed and out of recovery in a matter of hours (not days). By the way guys she climbed over the hill and back with no problems. If you have a car you care about you need to take it to Emile’s. Thanks again Emile and Peter, you have a customer for life.

Being able to see beauty in it’s simplest form a rare treat!

I’d like to believe that it had something to do with my being a cute blond driving an eye catching ever so unusual fun little red sports car. You see I drive a a little red MGB (having just dated myself here) and being far from 20 something I guess I’ll have to concede that Emile’s just happens to have some of the best customer service and skill at keeping my ride on the road, yet again!

Lets just say anyone that knows British cars, especially old MGs knows that it takes a lot of care and TLC to keep them driving on the road. My little beast of a car has been quite the expensive “thorn in my side” for some time now. I recently decided to just go get it finally fixed and put it up for sale, after several years of it sitting there staring at me saying “ha ha you shall never be able to trust that I will get you there and back.” So I made an appointment to take it to Emile’s, first off finding someone that even knows how to work on one of these is quite a coo not to mention having their shop be within 5 miles of where I reside. After many dollars later and much attention to getting it right, Emile has made the little red MGB able to grace the highways yet again. He did so much to the car and then took off substantial amounts in labor charges. To top it off Friday I called and said it seems maybe the fan belt might be slipping could you check it and let me know if it is safe to drive to Berkeley? He said stop by on your lunch hour, which I did and he stopped working on the other cars checked it out replaced the belt and when I asked what do I owe? He says lets just say it is warranty work, no charge! Now how many places can you go that they would do that for you?

So was it my charming personality or blond hair? I doubt it, I'll have to say they are an honest car repair business and know what customer service means. I am now considering maybe hanging on to the little MGB, maybe for just a little while, as it is running better than it ever has, and it is now getting me there and back again, and maybe turning a few too many heads, and getting me far too much attention! So thank you Emile for setting her wheels loose on the highway and making me feel quite young again with my blond hair flying in the wind!
